Financial Markets Center ------------------------------------------------------ New Fed Vacancies Web Page For the fourth time in his presidency, Bill Clinton has an opportunity to appoint two new governors to the Federal Reserve Board - and citizens have a chance to publicly debate the candidates and concerns Clinton should consider.

To encourage that debate, the Financial Markets Center has created a Fed Vacancies Page at its web site. The new Page contains a forum for users' views and a pipeline for making suggestions to White House officials in charge of selecting Fed nominees. Background materials posted to the Page include FMC's rating of presidents' impacts on the Fed, analyses of Board tenures and representation patterns and authoritative data sets on Fed governors. http://www.fmcenter.org
