The murderer may be a victim, but he is also responsible for what he did. And his victims deserve retribution. I don't expect any deterrent effect. Could even be a reverse deterrent effect, according to some research I've heard. I don't care.

I'm not sure what this is in reference to. I wouldn't say all murder should be punishable by death, but some should be, as far as I'm concerned.
