Obviously some victims suffer more than others, but to me this has only limited bearing on how much murderers should suffer. The more calculated and unprovoked the act, the greater the burden of guilt. Gratuitous suffering inflicted reflects the sickness of the perpetrator but one cannot be too impressed by the ethics of killers who forego this.
