body count

Barkley,

I don't find 5,000 an incredible figure on its face. However, I do find the apparent source for that figure -- the Pentagon/State Dept. -- highly incredible. These are the same folks peddling stories about Yugoslav Army (or VJ, if you prefer) soldiers using 700 Albanian Kosovar boys as human blood banks. About a stadium used as a concentration camp to kill 20,000 people (discredited by an AGP reporter.)

That's why I asked you what your source was for the "fairly detailed" city-by-city breakdown. I've searched for such a comprehensive list and found none. It's the kind of information that could help separate fact from propaganda. You still haven't mentioned in your posts where you saw such a list, or if you compiled it yourself.

I'm surprised that you belittle the importance of counting comabtants as combatants and civilians as civilians. That is standard practice, as far as I know. Amnesty International and the UNHC for Human Rights follow this practice, too.

Seth
