It wasn't Eustace mullins who was Pound's neo-Nazi racist disciple in
the l950s. It was a young man named John Kasper, who, with Pound's help
from hospital, founded the Seaboard White citizens Council after the
Supreme court outlawed segregation. Motto: Honor.Pride-Fight/Save the
White! Kasper was also connected to the American nazi Party and the
KKK, and was involved in fomenting anti-desegregation riots in
Tennessee in l957 and 58. I was mistaken about the Fla synagogue
burnings-- Kasper did make anti-semitic speeches in Fla, but was
arrested in Tenn for trying to blow up an elementary school that was
being desegregated. Eventually, Kasper went to fed prison, a copy of
mein Kampf under his arm.
Torrey's book is The Roots of Treason: Ezra Pound and the Secret of
St. Elizabeths (mcGraw Hill l983).
