not really. wahid is a strong beleiver in a secular state (contra seoharto's more recent inclinations and why the TNI like him). he's also pro-chinese (capital) in a way that sections of the TNI are not. he has also made loud noises about establishing economic links between israel and indonesia, contra the tendency of malaysian politics. there's little evidence thus far that wahid likes to mount a 'west' versus 'muslim' political theatrics; but that doesn't mean there are others who won't.

yes. the la rouchites have mustered a very multicultural kind of racism, which mahathir seems to like a lot, as do a few ex-maoists in australia... the line goes something like: 'we're so different. we can't live together. difference creates discord, balkanisation is the fate of any intermixing of the races, etc' 'jewish' in this instance means 'cosmopolitain' i guess, which is why it's attached to 'global money' -- a homeless finance capital. an almost archaic, and pre-zionist, sense.
