Workers Vanguard - my beacon in an uncertain world - theorized that it was to offer a warning to anyone in L.A. who might object to the then-upcoming verdict in the trial of the cops who beat Rodney King.

Charles: If I understand this and remember the order of events, this means the warning did not work, right ? Because the LA rebellion followed the acquittal.
