Researcher (Education) I12 Education
EPI seeks to recruit a scholar with demonstrated ability to conduct research and supervise contract research on K-12 education policy.
Possible areas of research include school funding equity and adequacy; determinants of school outcomes; evaluation of charter schools, vouchers and other reforms; school performance; and, the relationship of schools to labor markets and other social and economic institutions.
Applicants should be skilled in quantitative methods and case study analysis, and should be (or be prepared to become) familiar with current literature in the economics and sociology of education. Demonstrated ability to write for both a research and a policy (including media) audience is essential.
Applicants should have an advanced degree in public policy, education, sociology, economics or a related field and have research or policy experience. A mid-level person is sought, but exceptional senior and junior candidates will be considered. Position starts in January 2000 and salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishment.
