> Interesting that the NY times should pick up on some persona manufactured by
the media rather than more signficant hard-hitting critics, many of them
strongly anti-American and/or anti-imperialist and in some cases nationalist as
well: Linda McQuaig, Maude Barlow...
Both who've also been written up in the NY Times... just not this week. McQuaig, whose analyses are excellent (esp. her book on the Cnd tax system), writes for the National Post, Canada's new national/economic right-wing paper. Barlow, a pretty good nationalist, is excellent too. I've even got a signed copy of her book on free trade. What about Hurtig?
Must everyone on the "authentic" left take a vow of poverty? I thought the point was to improve living conditions, not inflict endless jabs upon people putting in 60 hour/weeks.

Joany come lately. Ms. Klein is to the fashionable left as Calvin Klein to
fashion. Now in the New York times. She's made it. She's in. A good sign the
left would be better off without her. Her PC period shows that she goes with
the flow.
Dear Ken,
You're joking right? Your comments above here are extraordinary pieces of nonsense. Marx is likely the most famous social theorist / philosopher in the world. He's made it, installed in the canon forever, it is highly likely that Marx is in the top twenty most read people of all time. I guess he's out too? It isn't criticism, hypocricy or arrogance that I dislike, it's hatred. Klein is an excellent journalist, inspiring even. There are better targets for your talents. Take aim wisely.
