Nathan Newman writes- <A basic rule of civics is that the peanut gallery is rarely worth listening to, since the fact that they have little at stake means their opinions are shaped more by emotion or easthetics than by real strategic and political choices arising out of the material reality of the political landscape.>

This Macho defense of union hacks is so typical of the crappy non-democratic environment inside the unions. Including the Sweeneynite phoney 'reform' grouping.

Go ahead, keep chasing the Democratic Party. Right now, you don't represent shit in the working class. How dare these hacks always postulate how much they're doing, and how they epitomize the workers. Even in fact, that they ARE the worlers.

The people you call the 'peanut galley', Nathan, are the working class. The union 'leadership' you defend, haven't found a place for most of us. The 'leaders' who you find to be so pragmatic, were too busy lobbying with the class enemy to include us along. Keep up this line, and we'll all be 'peanut galley'.

I have worked since I was 16, and I'll be damned if I put up with another SD style hack doing 'the worker strut'. That isn't being a worker. It's a Left parody of Archie Bunker.
