John Leonard reviews _It Didn't Happen Here_ by Seymour Martin Lipset and Gary Marks. The first paragraph: "At a free concert in Battery Park in New York six weeks ago, British folk singer Billy Bragg observed, between Woody Guthrie riffs, that the only signs of socialism he had seen anywhere in these United States were the public library and the carpool lane." I thought it was cool that the song that played over the closing credits of the new film _Jesus' Son_ is a Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco)/ Billy Bragg rendition of a song with Guthrie lyrics. Go see the film, folks!
