I know that he doesn't think he invented it, but he certainly made a claim that is ambiguous at best and misleading at worst. It is no different than the article posted here pointing out similar statements by Little Bush.

Most (l)users have no idea there was an internet before 1995, and think that the www *IS* the net. They don't think Algore invented it; that was just a little healthy feather ruffling by me.
