by the way, the adress i used, aside fromthe affiliate program address, was 
<orders at amazon.com>.  this is the adress you would apply to after ordering 
a book.  they send you a confirmation from orders at amazon.com addy.  this 
probably explains why i'm not getting an autoreply.  the message doug sent 
yesterday said to support them by buying a book and then to reply to the 
orders at amazon.com address by explaining that you'd ordered the book b/c you 
are suporting the union drive.

i'd suggest that you use this address and, if you need to, just make up 
some books you've bought in the past!  :)

also can't hurt to order a book and then canx or return it.
