mbs: I'd say the last thing Repugs have now is "ideological momentum." They diluted most of their principles to put Schrub in the center. They're looking at 50 Democratic Senators, and it is well known that every senator thinks he/she is no less qualified to be president than whoever the incumbent is, and this is more true now than ever before.
