or did they leave their guns at home? or since they are secret police and were "not on government time" did they wear the stuff they wear only around home, you know with the black leather & all & insignia? or did they wear the uniform of "normal" suits and ties they wear on duty in the FBI building or in court, or what they wear when they are being especially secret - like say infiltrating a group of black clad street demonstrators?
it's pretty much unprecidented, like the AP writer claims. there was of course the police riot against Dinkens in front of city hall in new york city in 1993, but that was uniformed police wearing their Staten Island mall clothes. you remember, the riot led from City Hall steps by Giuliani before he was elected mayor the first time. wonder if the first thing he did was to ban political speech from the steps of city hall, or was it the second.
