I said the NYC municipal unions as a group were dreadful. I gave several examples of why. They are part of a complex web of corruption, conservatism, and complacency that characterize the whole damn set-up. Like the Dems. You can find some good ones, you can find some issues on which Dems on average are better than Reps on average, but as an institution the party is dreadful. On the whole, organized labor in NYC is dreadful. Each union may be dreadful in its own way, just as Teddy Kennedy is dreadful in a different way from John Breaux.
