here's an idear: topica.com. host your own list and make your own granfalloon. something like yoshie's-bookshelf at topica.com
it can be archived so that, one post a day, yosh can include links to her postings cross posted to lbo, pen-l. the archive would be publicly accessible. those who want to read them in their mailbox, can subscribe to yoshie's-bookshelf at topica.com.

oh and it's *very* easy to run, as i understand it. if you find you have problems, there are support lists for help from other list-owners.
in case the point is lost: what would we all do with out each other to bitch at in a world where we can all make our own listservs and surround ourselves with our own granfalloons.
