In today's New York Times, the business section ran an article about how
sites without a bricks-and-mortar name aren't doing as well as anticipated
this holiday season. It was illustrated by a photo of a UPS truck and a
caption along the lines of, This downturn has a negative impact on UPS and
other carriers.
In the Metro section, a cutesy article about Manhattan doormen overwhelmed
by increasing deliveries from catalogues and dot.coms quoted a UPS
spokesperson as saying that they could barely keep up with the increase in
mail/web orders.
Always a pleasure to read the NYT.
