Anyone heard the rumours?

No, actually I have damn-all information and was hoping someone else did. Although the betting is now going very much B of A's way -- that bank looks like it's turning into a really nasty, back-biting place. I know very little. But the rumour that the Fed called a special FOMC looks like it was just trader-talk. I'd boil the broadbeans for lunch if I were you.

>PS That single malt never made it, alas.

Yeah, I know (cringe). Nor did the book I promised Chris Gregory, which it sits next to on my "stuff to feel guilty about" pile at home. If it makes you feel better, I also failed to remember my own sister's birthday again this year. I am a horrible person.

Speaking of pleading for information, mate, you wrote the following cryptic nugget:

>Poms to win a test-match.

Humanism has gone the way of the V-knee bellbottoms? Which way would that be? In a country where, I believe, John Farnham is still a star, you can't expect us to work out whether V-knee bellbottoms are considered "swinging" or "dodgy" without a bit more context.

I've got an email alert set up to tell me when the 1970s end in Australia -- should it have gone off?

cheers
