Really, perhaps some of the facts did not make it over to the US, so here
are just a few:
- Kohl, Schäuble and others received the money usually in cash, to avoid any
traces on banking account.
- somtimes their aides traveled to Switzerland for conspirative meetings to
receive the cash
- the CDU transfered their own money from obscure sources to launder it in
Switzerland
- by declaring they got huge inheritances from Jewish emigrants (this
invocation of anti-semitic stereotypes is the most disgusting aspect)
- a former deputy minister of defence and president of one of the secret
services now wanted by police
- one of the state prosecutors died in a travel accident
etc...
