There was an article in the NYT on January 21, 2000, page 18, entitled "DNA Data Suggest That Men Are in a Mating Competition". The content of the article seems to project a mating pattern for early humans which is the opposite of that posed by Evolutionary Psychology and seems to corroborate the Engelsian and Morganian concept. Dr. Chung-l Wi inferred from the rate of evolution of male sperm that it was in a stiff ( sorry) competition, which implies that women had multiple partners. This is the opposite of the ev. psych model which portrays early women as fot of confining themselves to one sex partner. It is closer to the Engels idea of early communism , with monogamy arising with private property and imposing a world historic defeat of the female sex.
