But Japan in the Nineties *did* produce Tetsuo I & II, "Dragonball Z" plus the ineffable, gorgeous, transcendental "Neon Genesis: Evangelion", suggesting a lively cultural politics of resistance is brewing in the Land of the Rising Keiretsu.
