OK, let it go. I thought I explained what I meant by it, the theoretical content, but it doesn't seem to be sticking. In a piece I did years ago, published in Socialist Register 1991, I have a discussion of why I use the term ":Stalinist" to characterize the political economy of Soviet-style systems. I think, still do, that there is more in in to name-calling. It involves a commitment to definite positioons and values as well as a certain style. I think that those positions, values, and style are loathsome, but there is more to the characterization than my distaste and even hatred for them. If, however, that is mot coming across, let's stop.
