i'm finding it really hard to understand how you folks can be so isolated 
that you've never spoken to someone who, without blinking an eyelash, calls 
themselves a christian in the fashion i described later on.  it's not a 
denomination.  they are, plain and simple, Christians and they recognize no 
others as being real Christians -- baptists are going to hell in a 
handbasket just like jews and muslims and catholics and 
buddhists.  criminy, there is even form i filled out once and it asked your 
religion, one of the answers was "just" christian with the quotes around 
it.  it's not an effect of living in the south, because i heard it in 
upstate new york often enough
