"Ralph Nader called the Washington Post and complained that Al Gore has been calling Nader's celebrity endorsers and trying to get them to change their minds.
"Nader didn't reveal the names of those who told him they'd been called by the veep because he said they didn't want publicity. But the list of well-known Nader endorsers includes Susan Sarandon, Bonnie Raitt, Phil Donahue, Eddie Vedder and Willie Nelson. Paul Newman also has donated money to Nader.
"Nader told the Post he wouldn't try to steal anyone else's supporters. 'It would never occur to me to wean someone away.'"
