Insofar as capital markets based in the U.S. are more liberalized and open, in line w/NN's points, it could be argued that capital is less entwined w/the U.S. state than in other countries. Rather, capital has a more supra-national character. Not necessarily more benign, but different from France, Germant, etc. Nor does this make our state more benign in respect of the working class. But less corporatist, I would say.
