Hah! The Wendy's on New York Avenue in Northeast D.C. must be some kind of
anomaly. The drive-thru there takes as long as an hour and a half sometimes
(no kidding). The plus side is that the workers tend to pocket whatever
money comes through the window or over the counter, rather than putting it
into the register. One woman even made change for me out of her purse and
everything. An act of on-the-job resistance to the planetary work machine
that would make any Autonomist proud.
