Huh? I guess Jim was ambiguous here. I thought he meant we need a party -- a political organization. Earlier in your post you write: ". . .if we play our cards right." The metaphor is grossly misleading. A single mind determines the play of cards -- and the thrust of Jim's post seems to me to be the point that "we" don't exist to play "our" cards since we lack the political form(s) which make possible a "we" acting in some coherent way.

I suspect that no such organization is possible at present (we don't even know what it should look like).
