Gee Whiz! Any idiot or even a bright high school sophomore can pile up enough goals to keep us rolling in the delights of Platonic discourse from here to eternity. A secular multi-racial, multi-religious democratic (socialist) state of Palestine in which all can live in peace and prosperity. If U.S. intellectuals can sell that to the Israeli invaders, more power to them. I'm sure that almost all Palestinians would be delighted. The solitary Spanish priest who tried to convince the Spanish invaders of Mexico to be civilized had no luck. I doubt that anyone will have any more luck with the Israelis.

Peace will come to Israel when either (a) U.S. declares the same kind of sanctions against Israel that it is currently applying to Iraq or (b) the region is so drenched in blood that there will be a peace of exhaustion.

Carrol

P.S. Re criticizing Arafat. The Palestinians are writing that criticism in their blood. Yapping from U.S. intellectuals is superfluous.
