Since (so far as I know) the only subscriber on the list who knows enough about darwinism to discuss it is Maureen Anderson, perhaps the absence of discussion on this topic is an instance of list members for once showing some awareness of their limitations. (A number of us can recognize a fellow ignoramus on the subject -- and anyone who claims to be a social darwinist is clearly among those who are too ignorant of biology to discuss anything that remotely touches on biology.)
