ooops! i forgot to note that, while i did just criticize you for the above, i do notice that you often take minority positions on the dc-stuff lists, challenging the libertarian/conservative line there on a number of things. so, i didn't want you to think that i thought you were being disingenuous in your claims about wanting to challenge certain points of view here. i see you as being argumentative and contrarian elsewhere, so this tack here is, indeed, something you are fond of doing, i recognize that--especially since i like doing the same.
i was just getting at the assumption you made about how folks here haven't considered these arguments. i know you can't read all that goes by on this list, and i know from talking to many lurkers, that much of what gets discussed here is, seemingly, esoteric. so you may miss all the ways in which the position you took has been taken by others here, but in slightly different, more nuanced ways...
