[David McReynolds, Socialist Party candidate for president, asked me to run as an elector in New York State - i.e., if he should win, I would have been a member of the electoral college, ha ha. My acceptance of the nomination was rejected because I sent it by fax, so it didn't have an original signature. An email I just sent to the executive director of the New York State Board of Elections, Thomas R. Wilkey. From their postal practices, you'd almost think they were happy to reject me.]

Dear Thomas Wilkey -

I've just gotten your letter informing me of your rejection of my certificate of acceptance of the Socialist Party's nomination of me for the office of Presidential Elector.

I find it quite amazing that you sent the rejection notice by Federal Express, at the additional expense of Saturday delivery, while you sent the notice of my nomination by first class mail. I got that letter the night before the acceptance or rejection was due, leaving me no option but to reply by fax. If you'd FedEx'd the initial letter, I could have responded with a letter including an original signature.
