OK, but if you have relinquished your freedom, how can you
complain about having it curtailed? Particularly if the issue is
whether the government can regulate the speech or activity, which
is the first amendment question. With classified research, that
question has been settled. The research is already regulated.

Hey, I sympathize quite a bit with those that say liberal democracy died with the origins of the national security state and I totally agree with you that if your opponent was cryin' about free speech after he alienated his rights, then he was enabling the psycho's who've wrecked free speech for many scientists and others. Just goes to show scientists can be as ignorant as the rest of us.
