< < < Please post widely. This is the most important street action to reclaim WBAI and Pacifica of the season. If you live out of New York, please post to your lists anyway. You never know who knows someone in New York, who's involved with the station. Thanks! > > >

DEFEND FREE SPEECH RADIO AND LABOR RIGHTS PACIFICA BOARD HIJACKERS MUST GO! BOYCOTT THE WBAI FUND DRIVE!
Make your voice heard! Join the MARCH Across the Brooklyn Bridge and RALLY at our station -WBAI
SATURDAY, APRIL 28 NOON - Assemble at Borough Hall, Brooklyn trains: 2, 3, 4, 5, R to Borough Hall; A, C, F to Jay St. - Borough Hall 1:00 PM - March thru downtown Brooklyn and across the bridge 2:30 PM - Rally at WBAI - 120 Wall Street (east of Water Street) trains: 2, 3, 4, 5 to Wall Street
Since last December's Christmas Coup by the Pacifica Foundation at WBAI, the imposed Interim Station Manager, Utrice Leid, has unleashed a wave of firings, bannings and censorship of progressive programmers. The Pacifica National Board - increasingly dominated by illegally seated corporate reps - is the power behind Leid. This is their latest effort to eliminate radical programming at all five Pacifica stations (including on Democracy Now!).
Don't contribute funds towards Pacifica's repressive management, slick public relations mouthpieces, anti-union lawyers, security guards - or now an unwarranted video surveillance system. Empower listeners! Support listener elections to the Local Advisory Board. CUT OFF THE FUEL for this machine and TURN UP THE HEAT until the board hijackers resign and Pacifica is democratized.
