i don't think it was methodologically a mess. it was a case study and i'm fairly certain that he was careful about what such a case study could say.
i certainly agree that he's moved away from marxism. he said so, flat out, in _Whose Keeper_! but to say that he does so be/c he is antifeminist is far from the truth. in fact, he speaks about how his understanding of feminism has to do with his marriage to a women who taught him much about scandinavian feminism.
