The Vatican is recognized as a country complete with it's own UN rep.
and diplomatic 'corp'. It's citizens [just under 900]have no
nationality according to the CIA factbook. Catholics aren't a nation
but many have been fierce nationalists [wonder what Jesus would have
thought of that?]
