Sorry Kelly, I've totally lost you here. If I was raised by a psychotic mother, I have no way of knowing what it would be like to have been raised by a sane mother and yet I might still feel a little crazy and be conscious of the fact (at some point) that I feel this way because I was raised by a psychotic mother.

If human beings are social animals they might certainly feel alienated from an anti-social system in the same way they might feel ill when they drink poison.
