i don't advocate just changing views, but changing social relations. just like you. to attribute to me anything else suggests that you don't care to ever read what i write, although you apparently expect me to read you, eh?
my problem: i don't think policing abortion is one of those social relations that needs to be part of that process of changing social relations.
i am uncertain how you plan to control eugenic abortion? just tell doctors that they can't perform the tests? or are you going to tell women who get these abortions that they can't--this would be impossible, given free standing clinics.
totalitarianism, license, liberty: gordon provided an example of someone who uses abortion in a trivial manner. he appeared not to approve. for gordon, i gathered, this was someone exercising license, rather than judiciously exercising rights.
he also answered someone who was criticizing you. in effect, he was calling anyone who doesn't make the distinction a totalitarian. i pointed out that you misinterpreted what he'd said.
i also pointed out that gordon's use of totalitarian is problematic. we've discussed that on list several times.
i honestly don't know where the hostility is coming from. this is a discussion list. if you have a point of view, argue for it. if others object, you can hardly expect anyone to be bowled over simply because you posted an article and refuse to engage.
>It astounds me how some people can spend so much time on line. Don't
>you have to do things like make money or earn a living? I sure do.
>In fact, I'm on another deadline so I probably won't be posting for
>quite a while.
yes, of course, anyone who doesn't live as you do is a slacker and doesn't support themselves.
heh.
