Edward Yang's "Yi-yi" was superb. Does anyone know why Iran is producing such tremendous films these days? Abbas Kiarostami, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Majid Majidi, Jafar Sassani -- just dazzling stuff. No flying saucers or exploding cars, just deceptively simple stories which unfold worlds of experience.
