POSITION: Assistant Professor of Sociology / Human Development

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Human Development, an interdisciplinary program, is seeking an individual with life span, family development, or human development training emphasizing a life course sociological perspective. Expectations include the ability to teach family development, gender development, an introductory life span human development course and introduction to sociology. The teaching load is 21 semester credits per academic year with possible reassignments. In addition, supervision of independent studies and internships is expected. Appropriate scholarly contributions are required along with institutional and community service relevant to interdisciplinary life span issues. Prior teaching experience is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Human Development, Sociology with a life course emphasis, Family Development, earned or anticipated prior to starting date. Expertise in developmental or life course approaches to gender issues and family studies is required. Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching and research is expected.
STARTING DATE: August 27, 2001
CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT: Tenure-track Assistant Professor; nine-month academic appointment with annual performance review. Summer teaching may be available. Tenure at UW-Green Bay requires teaching excellence, scholarship and service. An excellent benefits package is offered.
SALARY RANGE: Minimum salary of $39,000 based on qualifications.
