Jerry Brown? You mean my hometown mayor, whose program so far has been 1) to tap the Black and Latino working class neighborhoods as a source of well trained cannon fodder and channel these to the Pentagon and 2) conversely channel 10,000 dotcom yuppies into a 'revitalized' downtown colony full of Berkeley-style boutiques that working people can't afford to shop at?

1) and 2) are clearly related, a real dialectician Mr Brown is. Luckily he hasn't achieved his program yet. When I sent him a flame a while back in connection with his attempts ram a public military school down Oakland's throat despite majority opposition from the City Council, he responded, asking "Why are you so hostile"? Well, yeah, guess you gotta point there, Mr. Mayor, there's no reason for hostility in this world. The guy's the biggest bullshitter to come down the pike in a long time, objectively the most rightwing Mayor since the 1960's.

It figures that Pooper would like him, but it is going quite a bit far to the right, in relative terms.

Stay tuned for an inside peek at a local Spart Headquarters, the result of a brief encounter many years ago (the early 1980's) wherein we learn how ingesting large quantities of alcoholic beverages is a revolutionary proletarian virtue.
