For the non-degreed on this list: basically, you go insane for six months, and either end up clutching a degree like a castaway to driftwood, or else nice people in white suits truck you off to a padded cell. I think the only thing which saved me from the latter was watching lots of Dragonball Z (let's just say I emphathized with Goku-san) but I've got gray hairs from the experience, no joke.
