Michael Yates argued against Rakesh as MR review editor (correctly I
think) on the basis of his politics, not on the basis that Rakesh was a
bad person. Those political positions (as expressed on this list) were
perfectly respectable. They simply clashed unacceptably with the range
of political positions MR represented. The Carowan episode was not
necessary as confirmation.
