Dorothy Allison, and I think the anthology you're talking about is _Skin:
Talking About Sex, Class, and Literature_.

If you really want a class struggle comic book, there used to be  _Marx for
Beginners_, by Ruiz (Ruis?), but I'm not sure if it's in print anymore.
