Little can I add to Justin's post in reply to your ?'s. (Except, Justin slow down on the typing, schoolmarm me has to correct your cite of Wolfe, it's Bertram. I've got a copy of his autobiography, "A Life In Two Centuries, " laying somewhere in this mess. Fascinating stories on everyone from Stalin to F. Kahlo.

On the Liberal Media Shtick. William Kristol admitted a few years ago that this was a canard. I'm sure Seth Ackerman has the exact words handy.
