The $3 billion of annual aid the US forks over to Israel (3% of their GDP), plus Israel's exemplary service as a proxy state/live-fire weapons testing lab during the Cold War, argues otherwise.
Of course, I take the cynical position that the Pentagon is nothing but a high-end rentacop for Euro/Asiacapital, due to my bad habit of reading BIS reports. Everyone's got their vice, right?
