No, it's still true. It's an open secret that sensible and moderate reform Americans barely immigrate at all. They just visit. And send money. Only the crazies make Aliyah from America. And they are overrepresentd from Brooklyn. And Americans are still a dominant current among the worst settlers, e.g. in Hebron and Gaza. And they still speak with accents.
The irony of Hebron is that most Israelis hate those 400 people and would love to have them disappear. But every time they get attacked -- which they totally bring upon themselves -- it makes it politically impossible to pull them out.
