He was also excellent on the California power crisis. And before that on the Bush tax cut. The advent of Bush was the best thing that ever happened to his column writing.

He's still dismissive, but now it's consistently of fat cats and republicans who deserve it. Maybe he wants a job in the next Democratic administration?
