If a father did this with his children, would we hesitate for a moment in raking him over the coals? We expect that a parent-child relationship, at least, not be instrumental and subject to the vagaries of self-seeking in the market. If we can't hold the line here with respect to everything being for sale, where exactly will we hold the line.
