One of the things that is especially infuriating about the series of posts from Kelley [and to a lesser degree, the ones forwarded from Katha] is the "have your cake and eat it too" approach to flaying Sullivan.
What is wrong with Sullivan's opinions?
His promotion of monogamy, his affection for a life of marital bliss and domesticity, his insistence upon the unity of commitment and sexual relationship.
What is wrong with Sullivan's actions?
His promotion of promiscuity, his cultish glorification of wild, anonymous sex without responsibility, his insistence upon the pursuit of pleasure above relationship.
